- ArtLex: Visual Arts Dictionary -- "You'll find definitions of over 2,400 terms here, along with numerous illustrations, pronunciation notes, great quotations, and links to other resources on the Web."
- ArtSearch - A Search Site for the Arts -- "ArtSearch is dedicated to bringing you a fast and easy to use search when looking for art on the web. Whether you are looking for Fine Art, Pottery, Sculpture or Web Designers, you can find it with ArtSearch."
- ArtSource -- A gathering point for networked resources on Art and Architecture. The content is diverse and includes pointers to resources around the net as well as original materials submitted by librarians, artists, and art historians, etc.
- Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco Imagebase -- A guide to the De Young and Legion of Honor museums. It contains the world's largest "art imagebase," with more than 60,000 images available of works on paper. The images are annotated and searchable by artist, by title, and sometimes by description.
- fineArt forum -- Provides a journal, online gallery, gopher service, and directory of WWW resources in the fine arts.
- The Guide to Museums and Cultural Resources -- "The Guide to Museums and Cultural Resources provides a comprehensive index for information about museums, aquaria, historical parks and other cultural institutions. It is also designed to accommodate information about a variety of resources of interest to the arts/cultural/scientific/educational community."

- Large Format Photography -- A repository on the tools and techniques of large format photography.
- Medical Humanities: Literature, Arts, and Medicine Database -- "Annotated bibliography of prose, poetry, film and art developed as a dynamic, accessible, comprehensive resource in medical humanities."
- Metropolitan Museum of Art -- "The Metropolitan Museum of Art is one of the largest and finest art museums in the world. Its collections include more than two million works of art -- several hundred thousand of which are on view at any given time -- spanning more than 5,000 years of world culture, from prehistory to the present. This site is designed to give visitors an overview of the collections on display in the Museum's galleries. - The Perseus Project: An Evolving Digital Library -- A large collection of primary and secondary source materials relating to ancient Greece, including texts and images. "The library's materials include ancient texts and translations, philological tools, maps, extensively illustrated art catalogs, and secondary essays on topics like vase painting. A collaborative team from a number of academic institutions has worked together to amass Perseus materials. Over 70 museums have shared pictures of their art objects."

- UCR/California Museum of Photography (UCR/CMP) -- This site contains samples from current and past exhibits at the museum, as well as exclusively web-based exhibitions.
- World Wide Arts Resources -- Mammoth, searchable directory to all facets of online materials relating to art, including art history, artists, art galleries, performance arts, and arts education.
