  • America's Job Bank -- America's Job Bank lists about 250,000 jobs from 1,800 State Employment Service offices nationwide. Browse by scrolling through categories or search by code or keyword. This is a free service of the State Employment Agencies.
  • BigBook -- Listings for businesses in the United States. You can search by business name, location, and/or category. Listings include address, phone number, and a street map showing the business' location.
  • Canadian Public Company Web Sites -- "Enter a stock symbol or company name of any Canadian company, and this site will generate a page of links to stock quotes, press releases, company web sites, and other company information from reliable sources. All 4600 companies listed on the TSE, ASE, VSE, ME, and CDN are listed."
  • careers.wsj.com -- Career news, resources and job postings from the Wall Street Journal.
  • The Conference Board -- The Conference Board is the world's leading business membership and research organization, connecting senior executives from more than 2,300 enterprises in over 60 nations. A not-for-profit, non-advocacy organization, The Conference Board produces the Consumer Confidence Index, Leading Economic Indicators, and the magazine, Across the Board, provides high-level networking opportunities for more than 13,000 executives through its worldwide conferences, councils, and meetings, and improves decision-making through a wide range of reports on best business practices and economic and public policy issues.

  • Economy.com -- Economic information collected by USA today marketplace for the United states economy. Consists of : Economy reports, statistics, forecasts, factory orders, federal reserve reports, housing starts, gross domestic product (gdp), Leading Economic Indicators Index, prices, productivity, Retail sales, Trade, Unemployment, and related links.
  • Europages -- "150,000 company addresses from over 25 European countries, hundreds of company brochures, key business information and links to yellow pages throughout Europe."
  • FreeEDGAR -- Free online access to SEC filings. Searchable by company name or SIC code. Reports can be viewed online or turned into downloadable Excel spreadsheets. Also includes "in-depth financial analysis based on FreeEDGAR financial data" and "basic information on finance and investing."
  • Industry Research Desk -- This web site provides tools for researching specific companies, industries, and manufacturing processes. For business researchers not yet familiar with the Internet, a brief "Introduction to the Internet" is provided.
  • ISO Online -- Information from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), including the ISO catalog of standards, ISO Technical Committees, ISO member bodies and meeting schedules. An ISO 9000 News Service is provided, along with a section, "What's New at ISO." There is also a list of links to online information from national standards bodies of about 20 countries.
  • JobSmart -- "A public library based job search information site." Although the focus of this site is on California, there is much here that will be useful to all job hunters. Includes sections on writing resumes, career guides, and salary information.
  • JobWeb -- Employment listings and other information for job seekers and those looking for employees.
  • Monster.com -- Calls itself "The Premier Career Hub on the Web." A huge job bank where you can submit and post your resume free. Search for U.S. and international jobs or search company profiles. Use a free "personal agent" interactive page to help find jobs based on your personal profile.
  • NCS Career Magazine -- "Searchable job postings from major Internet newsgroups, resumes, employer profiles, career links and... more."
  • Occupational Outlook Handbook -- Labor and occupation forecasts from the United States federal government.
  • The Quantitative Macroeconomics and Real Business Cycle Home Page (QM&RBC) -- "This is a collection of links to several ressources about quantitative macroeconomics and especially real business cycle (RBC) theory on the World-Wide Web. Apart from links, there is quite a lot of original material (bibliography, code, etc.)"

  • The Universal Currency Converter -- "The Universal Currency Converter allows you to perform interactive foreign exchange rate conversion on the Internet. Type the amount of source currency in the input box. You may include commas and a decimal point. Select the source and destination currencies using the scrolling selection boxes."
  • WebEc: World Wide Web Resources in Economics -- "WebEc lists and describes material that could be of interest to mainly academic economists and is at least in part freely available on the Internet." Searchable.
  • WorkIndex -- Annotated guide to Internet resources in "human resources, labor relations, benefits, training, technology, staffing, recruiting, leadership, motivation, insurance, relocation, legal issues and more." Search the collection or browse by subject.
  • Zip2 Business Directory -- This searchable directory lists over 16 million businesses and allows searching by City, via a map, searching near an address (i.e., for finding businesses close to where you live) and also provides door to door directions between two addresses in the same metropolitan area.
