Return to the OSU Library Home Page Installing EndNote X1 for Windows from CD

To Install EndNote X1 (from disk):

  1. Uninstall any previous versions of EndNote and delete any C:\Program Files\EndNote folders.
  2. Insert the CD and follow the prompts to install the program.
  3. Click "Finish" to end the installation process.
  4. In "My Computer" or Windows Explorer, navigate to C:\Program Files\EndNote X1 and delete the "Connections," "Filters," and "Styles" folders you find there.
  5. Navigate to the CD drive and copy the "Connections," "Filters," and "Styles" folders.
  6. Navigate to C:\Program Files\EndNote X1 and paste the folders from the CD in C:\Program Files\EndNote X1.
