The Lives, the Legends, and the Legacies
Voices from the O-STATE Stories Oral History Project
October 17, 2012
The Oklahoma Oral History Research Program (OOHRP) at the OSU Library celebrated Homecoming 2012 with “The Lives, the Legends, and the Legacies: Voices from the O-STATE Stories Oral History Project” on Wednesday, October 17th from 3:30-5:00 pm in the Peggy V. Helmerich Browsing Room, Edmon Low Library.
Since 2006, the O-STATE Stories Oral History Project has chronicled the rich history, heritage, and traditions of Oklahoma State University through oral history interviews. With over 300 recordings in the collection, a wide array of memories illustrate life at Oklahoma A&M and Oklahoma State from the perspective of alumni, students, faculty, staff, and supporters.
The OOHRP's Mary Larson noted, "We get to hear so many wonderful recollections of campus life when we conduct and process interviews, and we love to share those. While our collection is always available online, we wanted to take this opportunity to highlight some of those stories and showcase them for the public at Homecoming."
Speakers for the event included OOHRP faculty members Tanya Finchum, Mary Larson, Juliana Nykolaiszyn, and Julie Pearson-Little Thunder.
The lecture was sponsored by the OSU Library, the Oklahoma Oral History Research Program, and the Center for Oklahoma Studies.
