The deGrummond Collection--Housed at University of Southern Mississippi campus, the de Grummond Children's Literature Collection is one of North America's leading research centers in the field of children's literature. Although the Collection has many strengths, the main focus is on American and British children's literature, historical and contemporary. Founded in 1966 by Dr. Lena Y. de Grummond, the Collection holds the original manuscripts and illustrations of more than 1200 authors and illustrators, as well as 100,000+ published books dating from 1530 to the present.

NCSS Online: Notable Children's Books 1998-2006 --- The National Council of the Social Studies provides a yearly list of Notable Children's Books dealing with various topics relating to history and social studies. These noteworthy books are often awarded literary prizes for the way that they address issues in history for students in the K-12 classroom.
