American State Papers, 1789-1838

  • The American State Papers is a retrospective collection of largely Congressional, but also Executive, materials originating from 1789 through 1838. This includes materials on events such as Lewis and Clark's Expedition and many other historical events. In addition, there are speeches and messages by Presidents Washington, Adams, Jefferson and Madison.

  • A citation index is a bibliographic tool in print or electronic format that lists all referenced or cited source items published in a given time span. The tool is a useful method for tracking the historical development -- backwards and forwards in time -- of an idea or given topic within the literature published in a wide selection of journal titles. What distinguishes it from other indexes is that it includes all the cited references (footnotes or bibliographies) published with each article it covers.
  • The Institute for Scientific Information® (ISI®) publishes the Art & Humanities Citation Index, which provides access to current bibliographic information and cited references, covering nearly 1,130 of the world's leading arts and humanities journals in a broad range of disciplines. It also covers individually selected, relevant items from approximately 7,000 of the world's leading science and social sciences journals. Both formats provide complete bibliographic data and additional features such as cited reference searching, keywords, and author and publisher addresses.

ARTstor

  • ARTstor's software will allow faculty to teach with digital images and students to review images related to a course. ARTstor users will be able to create and save image groups, and they will have tools that allow them to zoom in on details of images, as well as to use their own images along with those in the ARTstor collections. The software enables faculty users to deliver presentations (both on- and off-line) in a lecture hall or a seminar.

Oklahoma Sanborn Maps

  • Digital Sanborn Maps is a collection of large-scale landbook maps which includes information such as the outline of each building, the size and shape and construction materials, heights, and function of structures, location of windows and doors. The maps also give street names, street and sidewalk widths, property boundaries, building use, and house and block numbers. Textual information includes construction details, ownership and building use.
  • Includes most of the fire insurance maps of Oklahoma produced by the Sanborn Map Company from the mid-1880s to around 1950.   • The Electronic Data Gathering, Analysis, and Retrieval system (EDGAR), performs automated collection, validation, indexing, acceptance, and forwarding of submissions by companies and others who are required by law to file forms with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
  • Its primary purpose is to increase the efficiency and fairness of the securities market for the benefit of investors, corporations, and the economy by accelerating the receipt, acceptance, dissemination, and analysis of time-sensitive corporate information filed with the agency.
  • Not all documents filed with the Commission by public companies will be available on EDGAR. Companies were phased in to EDGAR filing over a three-year period, ending May 6, 1996. As of that date, all public domestic companies were required to make their filings on EDGAR, except for filings made in paper because of a hardship exemption.
