The WPA (Works Progress Administration until 1st July 1939, thereafter Work Projects Administration) was the agency responsible for the work relief program of the New Deal Administration. The Final State Reports were produced by the State Administration to record the achievements of the specific state projects and to provide recommendations and cautionary tales for any future organization faced with similar problems. The reports summarize the full range of activities that took place in each state.
