Special Decision-April 2002

Funding of $3,500 for staffing the 24-hour access during Spring 2003 finals week was approved.

The Friends earmarked up to $2,000 for the future production of a brochure.
Funding of $3,500 for staffing the 24-hour access during Fall 2003 finals week was approved.

The Friends moved $1000 to the newly established Verena Wise Memorial Endowment
Dean Johnson presented the OSU Library's five-year fundraising plan. The following goals are set: Research Initiatives Endowment $ 500,000; Named Collection Endowments $120,000 ; Special Collections Endowments $50,000; Reading Room Refurbishment $500,000; Library Plaza Renovation $500,000; Student Success Center $3,500,000; Special Collections Facility $3,000,000; Other Projects (includes archiving plane crash) $80,000. The total fundraising goal is $8,250,000.
Plans begin for Friends involvement on the 50th Anniversary Steering Committee.
The mission of the Friends was defined as "The organization shall seek to enhance the visibility and promote the interests of the OSU Library and to improve its physical resources in order to serve the needs of patrons."
