The Occupational Outlook Handbook is a nationally recognized source of career information, designed to provide valuable assistance to individuals making decisions about their future work lives. On reference on 1st and 5th floor ref. area (GP 3.22/2: 270). Also available at http://www.bls.gov/oco/
Dictionary of Occupational Titles (DOT) provides an alphabetical index to the titles of professions, occupations and jobs. It was used primarily by employment service offices to classify applicants and job openings (On 5th floor reference - ELA47 D555 1991. See also http://www.oalj.dol.gov/libdot.htm). This is being replaced with O*NET, The Occupational Information Network, ( http://online.onetcenter.org) which uses the Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) System (http://www.bls.gov/search/soc.asp).
