Finding Theses and Dissertations

We offer access to Electronic Theses and Dissertations or ETDs in a few different places, as well as theses and dissertations in print. If you have trouble with any of these resources please contact a librarian for assistance. For questions regarding binding of dissertations and theses please review the bindery guide here.

Finding OSU Dissertations and Theses

  • E-Archive: You can access the E-Archives by clicking on "Databases" under "Find Articles" on the library homepage, clicking "E" and then choosing "e-Archive," Finally click on "theses and dissertations" to be taken to the ETD digital collection.
  • Digital Collections: You can access Digital Collections from the homepage by clicking on the "View Digital Collections" link under the rotating graphic on the right side of the page, Lastly click on "Electronic Theses and Dissertations" at the bottom of the page.
  • OSU Library Catalog: Click on Catalog under Find Books on the library homepage. If the item is available in print the record will show a call number and list either the Main Library or the North Boomer Annex. If it is available electronically you will see a link that will take you directly to the full text item. Don't be discouraged if your results say Location: Electronic Resource--Theses. This location terminology is used for theses and dissertations alike.

Finding Non-OSU Dissertations and Theses

  • Digital Dissertations: To access Digital Dissertations click on the "Databases" link under "Find Articles." Then click on the letter "D" and choose "Digital Dissertations" from the list. You will be taken to the typical ProQuest database interface where you can search by keyword or for a specific dissertation.
  • WorldCat: To search library catalogs all over the world use WorldCat. You can limit your search by a variety of factors. If you find something you are interested in at another library we are happy to place an interlibrary loan request,

If you have any difficulty finding the resource you need please contact us.
