In this Update:
Reference Desk, Public Computers Rearranged
The General Reference Desk has been relocated from the second to the first floor of the Edmon Low Library. In addition, public computers from the second floor have been moved to the east side of the first floor. The current periodicals and the reference collection are now on the west side. This move to consolidates most public services on the first floor. It also provides more quiet study area on the second floor.
The General Reference Desk is open Monday-Thursday 8 am-midnight, Friday 8 a.m.-6 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m.-midnight. It is staffed with faculty librarians and library graduate assistants who can assist patrons in locating information. The Reference Desk can also be contacted at (405) 744-9775 or via Web form at http://www.library.okstate.edu/forms/refquest.htm.
Don't Pay For Article Downloads - Try our new article quick search
Some faculty have received advertisements from publishers announcing "low prices" for article downloads. Before you pay to download electronic articles, remember to check the Library's subscriptions. Most the publishers sending these ads are included in our subscriptions, so faculty can download unlimited articles free through the Library's web site.
If you know which journal you are looking for, visit the Full-Text Journal List at www.library.okstate.edu/ftdb/. If you are not sure where to start or need to do a blanket search on a specific topic try our new article quick search at http://ud4cl8nx8h.cs.serialssolutions.com. JSTOR Holdings Updated
OSU faculty can access JSTOR through the A-Z listing of indexes and databases or by looking up specific titles in the Full-Text Periodical Titles and Coverage List. Off-campus users will need to log into EZProxy to access JSTOR and other databases. If you have problems with EZProxy or any of the Library's electronic resources, contact DLS at 744-9161 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
According to the compromise agreed upon by the Library Administration, Faculty Council, and the Provost, peer-reviewed material available only in print will be returned to the Main Library based on decisions made in cooperation with departments using the material.
As of January 25, all requested titles from math, chemistry, physics and all departments in the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources have been returned to the Main Library and are now on the shelves in call number order. We have received requests from departments in the College of Engineering. These titles are being reviewed to compile the list of material to be returned to the Main Library.
Please Note: As always, material in the Annex may be requested for electronic delivery, pick up at the Main Library or on-site consultation at the Annex by appointment. For more information visit http://www.library.okstate.edu/annex/index.htm.
