Connect to Library Resources on Campus Wi-FiThere are two new wireless networks for campus: one for faculty and staff (OSUSTAFF), and one for students (OSUSTUDENT). These new networks provide secure access, and users only have to authenticate when O-Key usernames/passwords are updated. If you have problems connecting to the wireless or to any of our Library e-resources, please contact Digital Library Services, lib-dls@okstate.edu or 405-744-9161. Phelps Award Nominations OpenNominations for this year’s Edna Mae Phelps Award are now open. The award recognizes those who have performed exceptional work to increase the performance and effectiveness of the OSU Library. Eligible applicants are OSU Library volunteers, librarians, staff members, alumni, students, faculty, government office holders, fund raisers, interested citizens and members of the Friends of the OSU Library. Nominations letters should be submitted to debbie.clemons@okstate.edu or Edna Mae Phelps Award, 216 Edmon Low Library. Nominations must include your name, address and phone number, the name, address and phone number of the nominee and a narrative supporting the nomination. The deadline for nomination letters is 5 p.m. Aug. 17. The Phelps Award winner will be announced Sept. 14 at the H. Louise & H.E. "Ed" Cobb Speaker Series, presented by the Friends of the OSU Library. High-Density Shelving Facility At the June 15 meeting the Board of Regents approved Studio Architecture, Oklahoma City, along with PGAV, Kansas City, Kan., as the architects and CMS Willowbrook, Chickasha, as the construction manager at risk for the upcoming high-density shelving facility. The selected consultants will also help determine the most viable and efficient site for the facility, considering access and soil conditions. Locations on the north and west sides of the campus are under consideration. Watch: Youtube-Fondren Library’s Library Service Center (LSC) (a similar facility at Rice University) Math Learning Success Center Relocates to Edmon LowPlanning is underway to relocate the Math Learning Success Center (formerly the Math Learning Resource Center) to the fifth floor of the Edmon Low Library. The MLSC will house two MLSC staff, individual and group tutoring spaces and a 125 person computer lab. Library Documents staff are reviewing materials to ensure often-consulted materials remain in the Edmon Low Library. The fifth floor legal collection is being moved to the first floor, and the north third of the Library Annex is being prepared to house other Document materials.
