Annex Update

For details of the Annex process agreed on by faculty and the Library Administration visit http://www.library.okstate.edu/news/dean/marchupdate.htm#update.

As of May 18, Dr. Anne Prestamo, Associate Dean for Collections and Technology Services, has contacted the Heads of the departments in the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources. We have received prioritized lists from 3 departments and their requests are now in the queue to return to the Main Library. We are waiting on lists from the 4 remaining departments in the CASNR.

Please Note: As always, material in the Annex may be requested for electronic delivery, pick up at the Main Library or on-site consultation.

Building Access During the Summer

The OSU Library will undergo several renovations that will impact access to portions of the building this summer. The South Plaza will be refinished, the ceiling and lighting in the basement will be replaced, and the first floor Java Dave’s area will be tiled.

South Plaza: This project is made possible through the generosity of OSU alum, John Clerico. Construction on the Plaza shortly has begun and will continue into the fall semester. The south doors will be closed for the majority of the project. Patrons may access the building via the north entrance during operating hours. Planners anticipate partial access to the south doors will be restored for the beginning of the fall semester.

Basement: The lighting project is anticipated to be complete by July 29. Until then, there will be no public access to the basement, and all basement materials—call numbers 500-649 and 660-699—should be requested at the Circulation Desk. Staff will retrieve items by request. The Map Room, located in the basement, will be open by appointment only during the project. Call 744-9731 or email woodbw@okstate.edu to make arrangements.

First Floor: This project will begin July 1. It will not affect access to the building or any material, however the seating area will be closed. Java Dave’s will maintain their normal summer schedule.

For more information on the status of these projects, contact John DeGeorge, Head of Security and Facilities, at 405-744-7208 or visit www.library.okstate.edu.
