STILLWATER - The Oklahoma State University Library is recognizing its 100th anniversary of being a Government Documents Depository and its 50th anniversary of participation in the Patent and Trademark Depository Library Program.
To celebrate, the Government Documents and Patent department are providing Library patrons with visually appealing displays making use of primary source documents from their collection. Each display will highlight a different decade between 1770 and 2006.
“We want to give people a visual picture of what we have and to show them how the documents reflect the time period,” said Marian Chitwood, Library Technician and creator of the displays.
The celebration began in August 2006 and will continue until December 2007. The displays will be changed about every three weeks to reflect a different decade of the anniversary.
For more information about the displays or the Government Documents and Patents department, contact John Phillips, Head of the Documents Department, at 405-744-4869 or john.phillips@okstate.edu.
