Online Renewal Unavailable Due to Upgrade Delays

STILLWATER - Book recalls and online renewal are still unavailable due to unexpected delays in the upgrade of the library management system. On August 14-18, a new library server was installed and the upgrade began. The maintenance has had only a small effect on Library users--patrons cannot recall items or renew online.

Dr. Anne Prestamo, Associate Library Dean of Collection and Technology Services, said, "We are actually performing multiple upgrades at this time, and the large size of our database has resulted in a longer downtime than our vendor projected. We will complete the project as quickly as possible. In the meantime, we have off-line procedures in place to minimize the impact on our users."

The OSU Library Catalog is available during this time and is current as of Sunday, August 13. Individuals may check out or renew library materials at the Circulation Desk. A special off-line check-out system will be used during this time. For this reason, any materials checked-out or check-in will not be reflected in the OSU Library Catalog until the end of the update.
