For Immediate Release

STILLWATER - OSU students are eligible to attend the H. Louise & H.E. "Ed" Cobb Speaker Series free of charge.

This year’s featured speaker is best-selling author and three-time Pulitzer Prize nominee Michael Wallis. Wallis is a noted historian of the Old West and Route 66. He also provided the voice for the sheriff in the Disney Pixar movie, “Cars.”

The annual event will be held on Nov. 3 at the Edmon Low Library and is presented by the Friends of the OSU Library. The price for individual tickets is normally $75.

However, OSU students can enter for a free ticket by sending an email to lib.pub@okstate.edu. The email should contain your name, date of birth, email address, phone number and your 100 words. The topic of the 100 words is simple: Why do you want to attend the dinner? We will select the best answers and contact the winners.

“The speakers are really good, and it’s a really fun, formal event,” said Amanda Rose, economics sophomore, after attending last year’s dinner.

The H. Louise & H.E. "Ed" Cobb Speaker Series is made possible each year through the generosity of the Cobb family.

For more information about student ticket opportunities or the H. Louise & H.E. “Ed" Cobb Speaker Series, contact Bonnie Ann Cain, Coordinator of Library Publications and Communication at (405) 744-7331 or lib.pub@okstate.edu.
