STILLWATER - Bonnie Ann Cain, OSU Library Publications and Communication Coordinator, recently received her Accreditation in Public Relations (APR).
“Going through the process was an educational experience. It’s an opportunity to interlace the textbook theories and the real-life practice in your field,” Cain said. “My accreditation has refined the way I think about my work.”
Earning recognition as an APR is an important milestone in a PR practitioner’s career.
APRs must commit to professionalism; discipline and personal motivation; master a comprehensive body of knowledge and desire to uphold the Code of Professional Standards.
“Receiving my APR did a lot for my professional confidence," Cain said. "Holding an APR demonstrates my commitment to the profession.”
Cain received a bachelor’s in environmental science and Master of Science in mass communications from OSU. Cain has worked at the Library since 1995, and has served as the Library’s Publications and Communication Coordinator since 2001.
