STILLWATER - The annual recipients for the Class of 1942/ Willham Library Scholarship have been chosen. This year’s winners are Jacy D. Gelsinger, of Owasso; Tessa Brawley, of Stillwater; Trisha Posey, of Azle, Texas; and Lynsey Hepner, of Altus.

The scholarship is awarded every year to outstanding student employees of the OSU Library. Recipients must be employed as a student assistant in the OSU Library and be enrolled as a full time student at OSU. The scholarship was established May 28, 1992, by the class of 1942 to honor OAMC President Oliver S. Willham.

Each recipient receives a one dollar-an-hour pay raise. Also, two recipients become members of the Friends of the OSU Library Board of Directors. Brawley and Gelisnger will serve as board members for 2008.

“The opportunity to serve on the Board of Directors is such an honor,” Brawley said. “This really shows that all my hard work has really paid off, and I’m thankful.”

Gelsinger is also honored with the opportunity to serve on the Board of Directors.

“It’s a great way to say thank you to the donors who support the Library and give scholarships to assist students’ financial needs,” Gelsinger said.

Requirements for the scholarship include academic achievement at either the high school or college level with a GPA of at least 3.0. Outstanding leadership skills, extracurricular involvement and need of financial assistance are also considered.
