Donna Schwarz Honored by the College of Education
November 28, 2007
For Immediate Release
STILLWATER - Donna Schwarz, Curriculum Materials Library (CML) librarian, received a token of appreciation from CML staff and the College of Education at the CML’s 50th anniversary celebration.
“I was in shock with what was happening,” Schwarz said. “It
was so surreal.”
Schwarz was honored with a plaque from the Dean of the College of Education and
a scrapbook from the CML staff. The scrapbook included thoughts, fond memories
and words of appreciation.
“We are very appreciative of Donna and all of her hard work,” said Adrienne Hyle, associate dean of graduate studies and research. “Without her contributions, the CML would not be where it is today.”
Schwarz’s recognition for her dedication and passion for the CML and serving students, faculty and staff is well-deserved. Schwarz is the longest-serving CML librarian in the history of the branch library.
“The College of Education and the CML staff wanted to show our appreciation for Donna and all of her hard work, dedication and passion for the CML,” said Amie Allen, library technician III. “Words cannot express our appreciation for Donna.”
The Mary L. Williams Curriculum Materials Library celebrated its 50th anniversary
this year. The CML is one of 3 branch libraries at OSU. It is a model school library
with children’s literature and other materials that enhance classroom preparation
and instruction on the Stillwater campus.
“I will treasure the plaque and scrapbook for the rest of my life,” Schwarz
said.
