STILLWATER -The OSU Library and Stillwater Public Library present author and Oklahoma native Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz as a part of the libraries’ centennial programs.

“Roxanne has had an incredible career as a university professor, historian and activist for human rights,” said Karen Neurohr, OSU associate professor and assessments librarian.

The presentation and a book signing will be held Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. in room 309, Stillwater Public Library.

Dunbar-Ortiz is professor of Ethnic Studies and Women’s Studies at California State University, East Bay. She is the author of Red Dirt: Growing Up Okie, Blood on the Border: A Memoir of the Contra War, Roots of Resistance: Land Tenure in New Mexico, 1680—1980, and Outlaw Woman: A Memoir of the War Years, 1960-1975.

"Red Dirt: Growing Up Okie is a fascinating autobiographical discussion of Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz’s childhood and teenage years growing up in Oklahoma during the 1940s and 50s,” Neurohr said.

This event is free and open to the public, with a book signing immediately following the presentation. For more information contact Bonnie Ann Cain at (405) 744-7331 or lib-pub@okstate.edu.
