OSU Library Presents “Researching Patent and Trademark Information” Seminar

STILLWATER - The OSU Library is sponsoring a free seminar for inventors, entrepreneurs, education and legal professionals.
This seminar is part of the Patent and Trademark Depository Library’s 50th anniversary as a depository library for the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
“We are so honored to have the USPTO staff visit with us to offer a seminar on intellectual property,” said Suzanna Holcombe, the OSU patents librarian. “Preliminary research of patents and trademarks is an important first step for inventors and researchers.”
Sessions by USPTO staff include: An Overview of Patents, Trademarks, Copyrights and Trade Secrets; Promoting Innovation: Today’s USPTO; U.S. Patent Searching: Step by Step; Trademarks: the Fingerprints of Commerce; Conducting a Federal Trademark Search, Step by Step; USPTO Update: Electronic Filing, Proposed Rule Changes, Search Templates.
The seminar will be held at Oklahoma State University-Stillwater Sept. 13 in 102 Advanced Technology Research Center, south and west of Boone Pickens Stadium. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., and the seminar begins at 9 a.m. This event is free and open to the public.
