OSU Alum & Head of Google Book Search Tom Turvey Visits OSU

STILLWATER -Tom Turvey is the featured expert for the OSU Library's Dean’s Distinguished Lecture Series. Turvey, a Stillwater native and OSU alum, is Director of Google Book Search Partnerships, an online book search program and tool for authors and publishers.
The free talk and question and answer session is Sept. 28 at 9:30 a.m. in the Peggy V. Helmerich Browsing Room, Edmon Low Library.
Turvey will discuss Google’s view of content in a changing technological landscape, the book business, Google Book Search Partner Program, Google Book Search Library Project and some new revenue initiatives for rights holders.
The Dean's Distinguished Lecture Series was established by Dean of Libraries Sheila Grant Johnson to help inform the OSU campus and the community about issues related to academic libraries. The series brings a variety of experts in the field to discuss topics in a public forum. This is the third lecture in the series.
