For Immediate Release

STILLWATER -OSU students have the chance to win free tickets to A Conversation with T. Boone Pickens. Pickens will discuss his new book, the Pickens Plan and more with guests at the H. Louise and H.E. "Ed" Cobb Speaker Series in Stillwater on Sept. 5.

Pickens' development and advocacy of a new U.S. energy plan has generated an avalanche of political and media attention in recent weeks. The Pickens Plan, spelled out in "The First Billion is the Hardest," is a blueprint to reduce the nation’s foreign oil dependence by harnessing domestic energy alternatives.

“Each year student tickets are donated for this event,” said Chad Haney, Director of Library Development for the OSU Library. “We currently have 24 student tickets, and donations are still arriving.”

Entering doesn’t guarantee a ticket. Winners will be selected in a drawing.

Students can enter by e-mailing lib-pub@okstate.edu by Aug. 27. Entries must include: your name, birth date, e-mail address, phone number and100 words or less about why you want to attend the event. Students who win will be asked to write a thank you letter to the donor of their ticket.
