The OSU Library formally opened the Black American Military Experience Collection on Feb. 21, 2008. Gail Buckley, the daughter of Lena Horne and author of American Patriots: The Story of Blacks in the Military from the Revolution to Desert Storm, gave the keynote address . The collection centers around military service from the U.S. Revolution to the Vietnam War, and many of the items deal with race, slavery and civil rights.
- What: The Black American Military Experience Collection is open to the public and may be viewed by appointment
- Where: Special Collections & University Archives, Edmon Low Library, OSU-Stillwater Campus
- When: Monday-Friday 8 am-5 pm or by appoinment. Call 405-744-6311 to make arrangements to view the collection.
