The OSU Library’s 3-millionth volume is a first edition of John Hope Franklin’s From Slavery to Freedom. In honor of this milestone acquisition, the Cobb Speaker Series will feature Dr. Charles Johnson, author and scholar of African-American literature. Johnson received the National Book Award for Fiction in 1990 for his novel Middle Passage.

The event includes a welcome reception, dinner, lecture and signing reception. Individual tickets are $100, and half the cost is a tax-deductible gift to the Friends of the OSU Library. Call 405-744-7901 or visit www.library.okstate.edu/friends to make reservations.
