Craig Watkins, Dallas County’s Criminal District Attorney, will be the guest speaker when the OSU Library celebrates Constitution Day on Thursday, Sept. 17. Watkins will speak in the Peggy V. Helmerich Browsing Room, Edmon Low Library, at 3 p.m. A reception follows.

Watkins, the first black county District Attorney in Texas history, has gained local and national attention for using DNA testing to free more wrongfully convicted men than anywhere else in the country. The Dallas Morning News named Watkins the 2008 Texan of the Year; he also received the 2009 Constitutional Champion from the Constitution Project.
