STILLWATER - The OSU Library is unveiling its new book collection, The Black American Military Experience Collection, on Feb. 21, 2008. Two exhibits have been created in highlighting the collection and honoring Black History Month.

On the east side of the second floor in the Library, Leslie Echalk, Special Collections and University Archives technician, built the exhibit, The Black American Military Experience Collection.

On the west side of the second floor, Marian Chitwood, Documents Department Library technician, created the exhibit, Buffalo Soldier.

“Every year, we try to put an exhibit together for Black History Month,” Echalk said. “I was especially excited to do it this year because of the new collection.”

The collection holds about 425 books. Echalk spent nearly three weeks researching and designing the exhibit.

“I’m very proud of the exhibit,” she said. “I found it all very interesting and it was the most fun I’ve had doing an exhibit.”
