For Immediate Release

STILLWATER -The OSU Library is conducting a survey to measure library service quality and identify best practices through the Association of Research Libraries’ LibQUAL+™ program.

Students who participate will have a chance at winning a 26” LCD flat screen TV, a 7.1 mega pixels digital camera, or one of 15 $25 gift certificates to Wal-Mart.

LibQUAL+™ gives Library users a chance to give feedback about which services need improvement, so the Library can respond to and better manage expectations. Students are invited via email to take the survey online. Respondents complete the survey form, and their answers are sent to a central database. The data will be analyzed and used in the future to better services in the Library. All responses will be completely anonymous.

A sample of students will receive an email invitation to participate in the survey. The survey will be open for participation February 25 through March 14 and will take about 10 minutes to complete.

Partial funding for this project is provided by the U.S. Department of Education’s Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education (FIPSE).

The sample will include 1,500 freshmen, 1,500 sophomores, 1,500 juniors and 1,500 seniors that will be randomly selected to participate in the survey. All graduate and professional  students will be selected to participate in the survey.

If you’re not a part of the sample, you may participate by contacting Karen Neurohr at librarysurvey@okstate.edu, or calling (405) 744-7331. For answers to frequently asked questions about the survey, visit the wiki at http://librarysurvey.atyourlibrary.com/.
