For Immediate Release
STILLWATER -Each spring the OSU Library honors OSU employees and students who have authored, co-authored or edited a book or published a creative work such as musical composition, art exhibit catalog or audio recording in the past two years. All types of authors are invited to join.
To participate, authors should fill out and submit the online form found at the Library website. Authors are encouraged to send a signed copy of their work to the Library, to be highlighted at the event, on the Library’s website and to be placed in Special Collections. Authors are also invited to sell copies of their books at the reception.
“It’s a great opportunity to recognize the creativity of our OSU family,” said Valerie Trammell, senior Library technician. “We have such a large amount of talented staff, faculty and students; this is truly their time to shine.”
The Library will honor authors at a public reception Feb. 18 from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., in the Peggy V. Helmerich Browsing Room, Edmon Low Library.
Celebrating Books by OSU Authors recognizes and honors these individual achievements, encourage academic dialogue and ensure that works by OSU authors are available to the University community by adding these pieces to the OSU Library's collection. For more information about this year’s honorees and to include your work in this year’s event, visit www.library.okstate.edu/news/Celebratingbooks.
