May 05, 2008

For Immediate Release

STILLWATER -OSU Library staff member Amie Allen received the Mary Greenberg/Marguerite Howland Personnel Development Award at the Edmon Low Library Staff Association awards on April 25. This is the second straight year Allen has been honored with this award.

Allen received $500 which will go toward educational expenses. Allen is working on an Educational Technology master’s degree with a library media certification. She works in the Mary L. Williams Curriculum Materials Library.

"I'm very grateful for this award," Allen said. "I really appreciate Jill Holmes for setting up this award and others who have contributed to it."

The award was established by emeritus librarian Holmes upon her retirement from the Library in 1992 in order to honor former Library employees Greenberg and Howland. The award is given to full-time Library employees for work-related higher education tuition, workshop and seminar registration fees and conference expenses.

Allen said she will use the money to pay for educational expenses related to her master’s degree work.
