Nominate for Library’s Highest Honor

Phelps Award honors supporters of the OSU Library

STILLWATER -Each fall the Friends of the OSU Library presents the group’s highest honor, the Edna Mae Phelps Award. The award recognizes substantial and unselfish contributions to the OSU Library.

The award was established in honor of Mrs. Phelps of Seminole. Phelps was a strong supporter of the OSU Library. While serving on the OSU Board of Regents, she worked to improve the Library's budget. She also played an active role in organizing the Friends of the OSU Library and served as the organization’s first president.

Nominations will be accepted through July 25 for the 2008 award. Nominees may include OSU Library volunteers or employees, past or present students or faculty, government officials, interested citizens, or members of the Friends.

The award is presented annually at the Friends of the OSU Library dinner. This year’s event is September 5 and features T. Boone Pickens.

Nomination letters should include your name, address, and telephone number, the name, address, and telephone number of the person you are nominating, and a narrative supporting the nomination.
