STILLWATER -The Outstanding Library Staff Award is presented each year to recognize outstanding contributions to the OSU Library. This year, Bonnie Cain-Wood, senior communications specialist, was selected for this prestigious award.
Cain-Wood started working in the Library in 1995 as a student assistant. Since then, she has steadily increased her level of responsibility. For more than a decade, she has overseen the Library’s communication efforts. Three years ago, she added public programming to her list of duties.
Jackie German, administrative officer of the Library, nominated Cain-Wood for this award.
“Bonnie’s excellent planning, organization and public relations and marketing skills have attributed to resounding success since she has taken charge,” said German.
Award nominees have completed at least two years of full-time employment in the Library. The Dean determines the winner in consultation with the Dean’s Advisory Group. Recipients receive a cash award of $1,500, are honored at an awards lunch and the Edmon Low Library Staff Association's Spring Meeting.
Gala Lackey, library technician in the acquisition department, received honorable mention. According to her nomination, she has been with the Library for close to 20 years.
