Amigos Announces New Board & Officers
Prestamo to Chair in 2011-12

STILLWATER -Amigos Library Services recently announced its 2011-12 board of directors and elected officers for the year. Dr. Anne Prestamo was elected board chair for 2011-12.
Prestamo holds the Claud D. Kniffin Professor of Library Service and Education and serves as Associate Dean for Collection and Technology Services at the Oklahoma State University Libraries.
Amigos, a not-for-profit organization, is one of the nation's largest library resource-sharing networks and a leader in providing information technology to libraries. With over 600 members, Amigos is one of the largest consortia of libraries and cultural heritage institutions in the United States. The OSU Library joined Amigos as a charter member in 1975. It was the first academic library in Oklahoma to join an online bibliographic network.
Through membership in Amigos, libraries collectively gain access to the latest innovations and services in the library community; pursue opportunities for continuing professional education; leverage their buying power; and preserve the region’s rich cultural heritage.
Three others join Prestamo as 2011-12 officers. They are Jennifer Goodson of Fort Smith Public Library as vice chair, Charlie Kalogeros-Chattan of Los Alamos County Library System/Mesa Public Library as secretary, and Patrick Heath Boerne, Texas as treasurer.
