Daisy Lawler was interviewed January 10, 2007 as part of the Women of the Oklahoma Legislature Project. Mrs. Lawler was elected to the Oklahoma Senate in 2002 and served through 2006. Mrs. Lawler held the Senate District 24 seat and was a member of the Democrat Party. She was the first woman Chair of the Agriculture committee. She discusses sharing her interest in politics with her husband, campaigning on such issues as education and the high cost of medications, and presenting a bill to implement a phonics reading program in prisons.
