Carolyn Thompson Taylor was interviewed May 9, 2007 as part of the Women of the Oklahoma Legislature Oral History Project. Mrs. Taylor (Thompson while serving) was elected to the Oklahoma House of Representatives in 1984 and served through 1992. She represented House District 44 and was a member of the Democratic Party. She shares her experiences regarding her decision to run, campaigning, presenting bills on the floor and her thoughts on women and the political arena. Some of the legislation she sponsored is discussed including dealing with privacy rights of people checking out library books, property tax rates, gender neutral language in legislation, education reform and funding, and creating the Oklahoma Museum of Natural History.
