The Oklahoma State University Library is now soliciting applicants for the Director of Library Undergraduate Services. This is a tenure track position with an anticipated initial appointment at the rank of Associate Professor.
Lead efforts focused on engaging and supporting specific undergraduate populations connecting them to library services and collections. Such undergraduate groups include but are not limited to new students, first generation students, transfer students, veterans, Native Americans, and non-traditional students. Promote and publicize library resources and services that contribute to undergraduate student success. Coordinate with other campus groups working to achieve the University’s goals to improve retention and increase graduation rates by creating an environment in which undergraduates can thrive.
Use traditional, in-library encounters, and non-traditional methods to reach student groups, such as social networking and visiting student clubs and groups. Identify and develop other innovative methods and programs that support undergraduate study and learning. Work with the Library Senior Communications Specialist to develop and coordinate marketing plans designed to engage the target communities. Develop evaluative measure to determine impact of the Library’s efforts to engage targeted groups. Participate in other Library and OSU activities as necessary.
Required: qualifications include a record of significant accomplishments while working with undergraduate students and in developing innovative approaches to library instruction and community outreach; demonstrated proficiency and familiarity with emerging technologies and social media; excellent interpersonal, communication, collaboration, management, and leadership skills; a work history that indicates an ability to work with a diverse public; a willingness and ability to think creatively and to try innovative approaches. An ALA accredited master’s degree.
$65,000 minimum for 12 months. Social security; health and life insurance; 11 holidays; 22 days of annual leave and 22 days of sick leave per year
