This collection contains progress reports, plant tests, topical reports, consultant's reports, and annual reports produced by or for Fractionation Research Inc. (FRI) prior to 1970. Subsequent reports will be added as determined by the FRI Board of Directors.

Fractionation Research Inc. (FRI) was established in 1952 as a cooperative effort among petroleum, chemical and engineering companies to cost-effectively conduct plant-scale research in order to predict distillation results. As of 1998, over 80 companies from 15 countries are members of FRI. Each member company has the opportunity to place a person on the FRI Board of Directors. The Board directs how FRI is run and decides if contract renewal for FRI (every 3 to 5 years) is desirable. FRI moved from California to Stillwater, Oklahoma in 1991.
