Hunter (1870-1935) was the first woman faculty member of Oklahoma A&M College (1894-1896), and along with Harry E. Thompson was responsible for establishing the preparatory school. Hunter taught for the junior class of the preparatory school.

Microfilms of scrapbook kept by Ella Ewing Hunter, covering period 1885, when she graduated from Rockpoint High School, until the World War I period. Includes considerable information of early times at Tarkio and OAMC.

Hunter was born 1870 in Rockport, MO, and died December 31, 1935 in Phoenix, AZ. She attended Christian College, Columbia, MO, graduated from the Conservatory of Music at Tarkio College, Tarkio, MO, and was the first female faculty member at OAMC, 1894-1896. Her responsibilities at OAMC included the junior class of the preparatory school.
